Olathe Marching Invitational

New for 2019 a marching festival at amazing facilities in suburban Kansas City! The event will take place on Saturday, October 26th, 2019, at the College Boulevard Activity Center and Olathe Northwest High School in Olathe, Kansas. This will be a rotating host event with Olathe East and Olathe Northwest hosting the event for 2019 and performing in exhibition.
For this first year of the OMI, we are utilizing a 6 judge panel. As enrollment for the event grows, we plan to expand it to an 8 judge panel in the future. It will be a prelims/finals format. At this time we plan to include all bands in finals. However, if enrollment exceeds 15 ensembles, we may consider limiting the finals spots to manage the length of the event. We have the luxury of ample parking and could accommodate around 20 bands. This is the facility chosen to host a DCI show every summer because of its excellent resources for a large marching festival. What is truly unique about this event is each group will get to a warm-up slot to play and march on turf field on the East side of Olathe Northwest High School immediately prior to their performance on the turf field at CBAC. There is also a dedicated staging are on the East side of the stadium where all participating groups can leave their props and front ensemble equipment after their performance so that it is very close for finals performances.
The registration fee for the event is $300 and checks should be made out to Olathe East Band Boosters. Once you fill out the enrollment form I will send you an invoice. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any additional questions about the event.
