You are cordially invited to participate in the 2020 Lions’ Classic High School Marching Band Competition. “The Classic” will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 at Carterville High School. This exciting competition will be an early season show for directors to get feedback from well-known professionals within the music education field. Bands will also have the opportunity to perform their show using our state of the art campus facility, which includes an all-artificial turf field. The competition will begin at approximately 12:00 PM. We will be using a traditional 7 member-judging panel. Caption awards for Music Performance, Visual Performance, Percussion, Auxiliary, and Drum Major will be given for each class, in addition to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placement awards within each class. An overall Grand Champion (regardless of class) will be crowned at the end of the competition, in addition to a Soloist Award. We will strive to employ the highest quality adjudicators to evaluate your performance. Judges’ comments will be recorded digitally and given to directors via email. | |
