WEATHER UPDATE 17 OCTOBER 2025, 330PM
Good afternoon and happy Friday!
Your safety and the safety of your folks is our #1 concern---given Saturday’s forecast, we are moving OMMF 2025 indoors to give your kids a chance to *safely* perform. We will do everything we can to make things as safe as possible, and as smooth as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
What follows is a BUNCH of important information, so please read carefully and fully!
If you have any questions or concerns about the information below, please let me know via phone at 417-268-5674 or via email at jgaroutte@wolves.k12.mo.us and I will get back to you ASAP. Here we go:
Basic Show Information
Reeds Spring High School
20277 MO-413, Reeds Spring, MO 65737
OMMF 2025 INDOOR Schedule/Google Drive Folder
The INDOOR show schedule is available in the OMMF 2025 Director Shared Folder.
Parking/Safety
Out of necessity to provide student safety, please have your buses and equipment trucks enter at the Northern entrance (Middle School entrance/north side of Table Rock Career Center), and your spectators enter from the Southern entrance (at the High School sign/Southern side of Table Rock Career Center). These entrances will be clearly marked, and will have parking attendants outside if it is safe to do so. This is different from the outside show flow, and different than previous years---it’s intended to keep your equipment from being outside more than necessary.
Band members are welcome to enter whatever door they see fit following their performance/packing up at the buses, as long as they have their wristband on!
We also ask that only your equipment trucks and trailers accompany your buses to the bus parking area---please help us out with this, as it is a safety issue! Thanks for your understanding (and patience!) in this matter!
Escorts
You will have a set of escorts with your band for 30 minutes before your performance, and for 15 minutes after your performance time ends. They are hand-picked RSHS students, and if you need anything (a bottle of water, a loaner instrument, help moving equipment, etc.), please let your band escort know and we will do everything we can to help.
Facilities/Restrooms/Changing
Restrooms in the High School will be available for your use. Other than the commons area restrooms, you are welcome to use our restrooms (C and D Halls only please!) for changing/makeup/dressing out for your show, or at your designated band area. Please keep changing to these designated areas or your buses/trailers---thank you!
We have a full-sized Basketball gym in which you can perform your music, and lots of seating for spectators! Spectator flow to seating will be clearly marked, and will have helpers along the way. We will also have room in our longer halls for you to store cases, wipe off damp, etc.Trash cans will be placed all over in the HS, and a few under light posts outdoors in the bus/trailer parking areas. Feel free to leave your trash bags outside at these light posts and we will take care of them for you!
Warm Up/Performance Flow
Warm Up will be inside our Auxiliary Gym (on the map), and performances will take place in the Main Gym. We ask that you only send those folks that are actively carrying/pushing equipment for your performance into the Aux Gym. Props will not be allowed inside, as we want to protect our playing areas and those people attending the festival. Those areas will be covered by tarps, but again, safety first!
****All spectators (not equipment folks) need to enter the school via the main entrance, or at the North end of D Hall (nearest Table Rock Career Center), then purchase a wristband at the admissions table. Thank you for your help with this!****
Classifications/Awards
17 total bands competing in 4 classes plus the Reeds Spring Wolf Pride Band Exhibition performance following the conclusion of A/B preliminary competition.
Classification is based on total performer numbers: 4 Bands-A Class, 6 Bands-B Class, 4 Bands-C Class, and 3 Bands-D Class.
Prelims Awards for each class (A, B, C, D) will be awarded as follows:
Placement Awards in each class
Outstanding Music in each class
Outstanding Visual in each class---Not awarded due to moving indoors.
Outstanding Percussion in each class
Outstanding Guard in each class
The Red Division will have a Prelims awards ceremony immediately following the conclusion of Red Prelims (A/B Classes). No Finals will be held due to moving indoors.
The White Division will have a Prelims awards ceremony immediately following the conclusion of White Prelims (C/D Classes). No finals will be held due to moving indoors.
We will also be looking out for the Esprit de Corps award, which is given to the band demonstrating the best sportsmanship, camaraderie, and great attitude during OMMF!
Judging/Competition Suite
We are still using Competition Suite, and Visual judges will move to music captions, EX: the visual ensemble/effect judge will judge music ensemble/effect alongside the original music ensemble/effect judge, same on individual captions, etc. Percussion and Color Guard will still be judged, and we suggest sending a few select CG folks up front or to the side to demonstrate your mastery of your choreography. We want your kids to be able to show off!
Finals Information/Awards
No finals will be held due to moving indoors.
Admissions/Fees/Hospitality Room
We will provide wristbands for your students, directors, bus drivers, and helpers based on your numbers from your entry information. Upon arrival, you will be issued those as part of your packet. We make sure to keep our admission prices low (Prices-$10 adults, $5 seniors/students) to make our festival one of the most affordable in the area, so please encourage your community to come support your band at OMMF! Unfortunately, extra wristbands or stamps will not be available the day of the festival, as this is our primary fundraiser for our entire band program from 7-12 grade. Thanks for understanding, and for supporting our festival and programs!
Our festival will provide meals for directors and bus drivers via concessions vouchers in your packets. We will also have a quiet place for your bus drivers and staff to relax, at the end of C Hall. The entrance to the hospitality room will be at the end of the hallway nearest the stadium (or walking down from the commons area), so please stop by, take a break and a few well deserved few minutes of (relative) silence and solitude!
As always, please contact me anytime regarding questions or comments, and I will see you soon! Safe travels!---G
PS-We will still have concessions and Wolf Calls (Air-Grams) available. If you'd like us to plan on feeding your kids so you don't have to cook outside, please let me know! We can take cash, card, or school check!
****************************************************************************
OMMF is a Prelims/Finals, Band Size Classification, festival in which half of each class makes finals! Brand new turf field, great judging panel, additional parking, and good times---join us in 2025!
The Ozark Mountain Marching Festival strives to meet the educational, performance, and feedback-based needs of bands of all sizes and ability levels. Originally created as a festival for smaller bands, OMMF has grown into a full day celebration of bands and their families, with bands from 24 to 160 members performing throughout the day in 2024. We frequently have bands that are only halfway through their competitive season, as well as those bands that are finishing up their season at OMMF. We strive to hire adjudicators that will give feedback appropriate to the size, ability level, and needs of your particular group.
We have had so much positive feedback and attendance over the last few years, and since we consistently have more bands expressing interest than our day accommodates, we will be accepting entries on the website up to a limit of 20 bands. All other entries will be placed on and notified they are on a waiting list, and spots will be filled on a first come-first served basis. If you sign up and decide not to participate please let us know ASAP so we can let other bands know about the opening.
