One of Southwest Missouri's oldest festival parades, this one-mile route through the heart of Stockton takes place on the final day of the annual Black Walnut Festival, celebrating one of the major industries of the community. Bands receive adjudication and comments in music, marching, general effect, drum major, drum line, and auxiliary. Classifications follow MSHSAA guidelines but include a category for Class 2 bands that march students from grades 7 and 8. Middle school bands are also welcome for competition or comments only. Lineup takes place at 1 pm on the middle school campus with step-off at 2 pm. Enjoy some post-parade down time in the festival at the city park prior to awards at 4 pm.
