No entry fee/admission

One of the oldest town festival events in Southwest Missouri, the Black Walnut Festival Parade features a straight one-mile parade route from the campus of Stockton Middle School to the Stockton City Park. An appreciative crowd of over 5,000 spectators line the route. Bands are grouped according to MSHSAA classification. Directors in class 2 may choose to enter a "combined" division of schools that include grades 8-12 or 7-12. Junior High Bands and Drum & Bugle Corps compete in separate divisions. Awards are presented to top three bands in each class for block band score (music, marching, GE). The top drumline, music score, drum major and auxiliary from across all classes are also recognized. The awards presentation ends with recognition of the outstanding band of the day, based on cumulative block band/drum major/drum line/auxiliary scores.
