The Royal Regiment Invitational will be hosted on Saturday October 26th, 2019. This will be a single performance festival. Bands will be classed by band size in 2 or 3 separate classes depending on the number of entries. Due to parking restrictions the festival will be limited 12 to 16 bands depending on the sizes. Once full, we will reassess parking space and allow more groups if we are able to.
This event will be hosted at Harrisonville Middle School where the districts stadium is located. It will feature a turf field and a 3500 seat stadium. All bands will be parked near the stadium with spectator parking on surrounding streets and nearby public lots. The festival will be scheduled during the afternoon, most likely starting after 1:00 p.m.
The entry fee is $300 per band or $250 if paid before August 1st. In order to book and pay for judges, no refunds will be available for entry fees for any reason. Invoices will be sent out upon receipt of registration. A W-9 will be posted on the Midwest Marching website. Checks should be made payable to “Royal Guard Band Boosters”.
Bands will be judged in the following areas (subject to change):
Music Ensemble 15% Music Individual 15%
Trophies will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place in each division with additional caption awards in each division for percussion, auxiliary, and outstanding soloist.
Registration will be done through a google forms link (below) included on Midwest Marching. Information such as exact performer numbers, additional staff names, show title/selections, drum majors etc. will be collected in August. Email will be the primary forms of communication to provide information for this event. Each performing group will receive a 15 minute performance slot with a 15 minute music warm-up prior to their performance. A small physical warm-up area (playground blacktop) will be provided for a 15 minute slot prior to music warm-up time. Groups may only warm-up during the designated warm-up time due to the close proximity of parking to the stadium. Groups playing outside of the warm-up time/area may be penalized.
Admission is $8 per adult (12 and over) and $5 per child; 3 and under is free. No district or conference passes will be accepted for this event. Wristbands will be provided to all performers and directors. A wristband will not be required to help with equipment and props for a performance, but admission will be charged for everyone entering the stadium as a spectator other than performers and staff. Meal coupons will be provided for all directors and concessions will be available for purchase inside of the stadium.
