The parade and indoor events are free to all. There is a $5 entry fee for the field competition. | |
The 59th annual Central Methodist University Band Day will be held on October 12, with more than 40 schools from around the state anticipated to compete. Schools from all classes are included in the lineup for the day of competition, which will include a parade and field performances as well as indoor drumline and indoor color guard. The day will kick off with the parade at 9:30 a.m. in front of Swinney Conservatory. It will go down Church St., turn left at the bandstand, left again onto Main St., and end at the entrance to CMU at Main and Elm. The parade will be followed by field competition at Davis Field around 11:00 a.m. Indoor drum line competitions will take place in Puckett Fieldhouse and indoor color guard will compete in the turf room. We try to track down as much info as we can but we rely on the festival directors to update their pages with schedules and results. Fans can help us too the day of a festival by sending us photos, schedule updates, scores, etc. via Facebook messenger.
