Quincy Octoberfest is a parade and field show competition. The parade marches west down historic Maine street. The streets are lined with band loving audience members and historic architecture. The Field show competition takes place at Flinn Memorial Stadium. Our stadium seats approximately 3,500 people, creating a fantastic atmosphere for marching band performances and a great vantage point for audience members. You may choose to compete in either events or both. Details: Registration for this event is currently closed. Email duffyje@qps.org if you would like to register for the event. At the end of the night we have a special guest performance from the Hawkeye Marching Band! Following their performance we will have a full band retreat for the awards ceremony. Awards are given by school size, best from each state represented, caption awards, grand champion, and sweepstakes. Following the awards, a fireworks display is set off giving the students an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and achievements! | |
