Every year it draws over 50 High School and Middle School bands from Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska which are judged in both parade & field marching in the daylong competition. The free parade starts at 9:00 a.m. around the Clarinda Downtown Square. The afternoon field shows begin at 12:45 p.m. with the flag raising ceremony conducted by the American Legion Sergy Post No. 98 at the Clarinda High School Football Stadium. In addition, the Clarinda High School band will perform an exhibition show followed by the afternoon field competition.
