The 58th annual Central Methodist University Band Day will be held on October 7, with more than 40 schools from around the state set to compete.
Schools from all classes are included in the lineup for the day of competition, which will include a parade and performances by bands, drum lines, and color guards.
The day will kick off with the parade at 9:30 a.m. in front of Swinney Conservatory. It will go down Church St., turn left at the bandstand, left again onto Main St., and end at the entrance to CMU at Main and Elm.
The parade will be followed by field competition at Davis Field at 11:00 a.m. Indoor competitions will take place in Puckett Fieldhouse with drum line starting at noon and color guard starting at 10:50 a.m. in the turf room.
The field and indoor competitions are free to enter for CMU students, faculty, and staff. Gate fee at the field for other spectators is $5.
Class 1 – Glasgow, Green Ridge, Norborne, North Shelby, Orrick, Chamois, and Sweet Springs
Class 2 – Cole Camp, Crest Ridge, Eugene, Fayette, Gallatin, Hamilton, Lone Jack, Mid-Buchanan, New Haven, New Franklin, Polo, Salisbury, Smithton, Tipton, and Westran
Class 3 – Blair Oaks, Boonville, Brookfield, Clever, Fatima, Hallsville, Holden, Macon, Owensville, Trenton, and Winfield
Class 4 – Fulton, Grandview, Kirksville, Moberly, Oak Grove, and School of the Osage
Class 5 – Park Hill South and Troy Buchanan
