Mid-Missouri SoundOff is a competition / clinic hybrid event that is focused on the music aspect of Field Shows and performances of Indoor Drumline and Indoor Colorguard. This event caters towards smaller schools and bands, but is open for any MSHSAA registered school. The event is designed to be an educational experience and allow bands that might not go to other competitions to be able to compete and learn. Only do parade? Play your parade music for the performance. Want to bring your middle school and have them perform? Absolutely! Want your battery drumline to play through their cadences as their Indoor Drumline performance? Go for it. Schools will be divided based on the 2024-2025 MSHSAA Music Class Classification. If there is a size of class that has six or more groups participate, that class will be divided in smaller subclasses based on student population. Middle School will match the 2024-2025 MSHSAA Music Class Classifications. As a MSMA Affiliate Festival, we will use the same sheets that MSMA uses for their events. Field Show performances will be judged in a "music block" only, where no band visuals will be critiqued. Groups participating in the Field Show portion of the competition will receive a short clinic after their performance from the panel of judges. All performances will be held indoors as time and weather allows. There will be caption awards for best drum major and best auxiliary per class (regardless of how they are divided). All three events will have written sheets and tape recordings for you to listen back to with your students. There will also be a Fan Vote award and a Grand Champion award that is the group with the best total score from Field Show, Indoor Drumline, and Indoor Colorguard. Middle School groups will not be eligible for captions awards or Grand Champion. Registration Link - https://forms.gle/sGB4ZvF6oHXpnJZQ9 | |
