$10 adults, $5 for children and seniors (12 and under/65 and over)
In an effort to increase the educational feedback and scoring consistency between marching band festivals, we have created the West-Central Marching Band Circuit. This will include 3 festivals for the 2021 fall season including the Smith Cotton Invitational, Odessa Marching Invitational, and Royal Regiment Invitational. We want to maintain the success of these festivals while improving the educational experiences of students and directors throughout the region. This event is open to any school wishing to attend. You are welcome to register for all 3 events, or separately as desired just as in past years. Scoring and band classifications for the field show performances will be standardized between all 3 events.
Scoring for all 3 field show events will have the following 6 captions:
Music Effect 20% Music Ensemble 20% Music Individual 20%
Each event will use the same judging sheets. All sheets will total 200 points and formulas will be used to tabulate final scores. Sample sheets will be available on Midwest Marching prior to the events. Guard and percussion will contribute to each of the previously listed captions as they should count towards the overall music and visual scores of each ensemble.
Bands for all field show events will be classed in 3 to 4 even classes based on school size (DESE Enrollment, not MSHSAA classifications) and the number of bands registered by August 1st. Bands registering after August 1st will be classed wherever they fall within the established classes.
Caption awards, trophies, additional events (indoor, parade, etc), performance order, and gate fees will NOT be standardized and will be run by each separate site to suit the logistics of their event.
A $300 entry fee for each field show event will be charged and invoiced from each individual school/booster organization. If you attend 2 of the circuit field shows this will be reduced to $275 per field show event. If you attend all 3 this will be reduced to $250 per field show event.
Anyone registering after August 1st will be charged the full $300 per field show event and accepted as space allows.
Additional indoor or parade events will be left up to each individual site. Information related to payments, scheduling, parking, and other logistics will also be provided by individual festival sites.
The Royal Regiment Invitational specifically will cap at 12-16 bands depending on band sizes due to parking restrictions. Registration will open in mid-February once previously attending bands have been given a chance to register.
