Quad States Marching Competition

You are invited to participate in the USD Quad State
Marching Competition on October 18, 2014! This year USD
has partnered with USBands to bring you the best event
for you and your program! USBands uses a
classification system designed to ensure bands of like
size, style, and experiences are grouped together.
USBands uses a criteria-based adjudication system in
which each competitive class is adjusted on a separate
scale that reflects its skill set and its anticipated
level of proficiency.
USBands group size for participating bands is
based on the total number of performers, not the
size of the student population at their school.
This count includes playing members, auxiliary
(color guard, majorettes, etc.), and command personnel
(drum majors, guard captains, etc.) Group sizes and fees
are listed below.
Classification: “Open Class” is generally populated
by seasoned bands that demonstrate expanded skill sets.
Open bands are adjudicated on a scale supporting
intermediate to advanced skills. “A Class” is generally
for bands in the process of building or rebuilding a
program or new to the competitive setting, or other
circumstances impacting the program. A Class bands are
adjudicated on a scale representing fundamental to
intermediate skills. Classification DOES NOT affect
registration fees.
