Waseca Marching Classic

September 19, 2015The 28th Annual Waseca
Marching Classic will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
The 100 Unit parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. in Downtown
Waseca. The parade awards and monetary prizes follow
immediately at Trowbridge Park. The Competition
continues at Waseca High School at 5:00 p.m. where
marching bands perform their field show routines. Awards
including the Herb Streitz Spirit Award recognizing a
band that best represents their school and city, will be
presented at 8:00 p.m. followed by the Classic Fireworks
Display.
A free one hour parade or field clinic with two
professional clinicians is offered to each participating
band and scheduled throughout the day. It is designed to
enhance individual and group performance; and develop
self-esteem & self confidence.
Parade and Field Competitive Bands will be divided
into two, three, or four classes based on band size and
school enrollment, as well as the number of bands
registered. Bands can also choose to perform and be
evaluated in a non-competitive class. Requests to change
classes because of experience or band size are
considered each year by the committee.
Our goal is to achieve a more balanced competition in
each class to provide a better experience for directors
and students.
