The 34th Annual Neewollah Marching Band
Festival will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 and is
hosted by Neewollah, Inc., and Independence USD 446. The
Festival is approved by the Kansas State High School
Activities Association (KSHSAA), which has reciprocating
approvals with neighboring states.
The Grand Parade occurs downtown in the morning and
is a pass-in-review competition for rating and/or
critique. The Field Competition is held after the Grand
Parade at Shulthis Stadium in Riverside Park. Bands are
divided into four classes according to band size and
compete for the following awards:
- Outstanding Percussion
- Outstanding Drum Major
- Outstanding Colorguard
- Best in Class
- Grand Champion, 2nd, and 3rd place overall
Each band receiving a I or II rating on the field
will receive a trophy and bands receiving a III on the
field will receive a certificate.
Bands are also welcome to come and march in the
parade without being judged or critiqued at no charge.
If you choose to enter the Field Competition, your group
is required to participate in the Grand Parade. This
requirement is per the Neewollah Board of Directors.
Please understand this requirement when considering
participation.
