NEW THIS YEAR!!!
Instructional clinics led by national judges in the morning Registrations taken 1st come, first serve National Judges for the evening competitions.

The Irondale Marching Knights will host their 19th Annual “Music of the Knight” Marching Band Festival. The field competition features some of the finest marching bands from Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The contest consists of judging in three classes with awards going to the top three performance scores in each class for Drum Major, Woodwinds, Percussion/Battery and Color Guard.

There Is LIMITED parking available at the Irondale parking lots.  A large portion of it will be used to accommodate the bands and their equipment.

There is street parking on the neighboring streets, but it is also limited.

Please consider carpooling.

Please allow walking time if you have to park further away.

Judging Panel

 

MUSIC

Bill Watson - Currently the Director of Fine Arts for the Lewisville Independent School District, located in Denton County just north of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. He is in his sixth year as a member of the brass staff for the Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps. He is also and adjudicator for Bands of America.

George Wozniak - George has been co-Brass Caption Head with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle corps from Canton, Ohio for the past six years. He was also the Director of the nationally acclaimed Kiski Area Marching Band from 1993 to 2004. George is a current member of the Keystone Winds and has recorded several CD’s on the Citadel Label.

 

VISUAL

Pete Weber - Peter began his drum and bugle corps career marching with the Cavaliers from Rosemount, Illinois. He is currently the drill writer for the Santa Clara Vanguard. When not teaching or performing, Peter is active as a designer, consultant, and adjudicator for high school bands throughout the United States.

 

Jason Bentley – Jason is a drill writer and visual instructor who grew up in Lexington, KY. He played mellophone for the Bluegrass Brass Senior Corps ('94), the Crossmen ('95) and the Cadets ('96, '98, '99).  He started his teaching career with the Crossmen the following year.  Jason is currently the visual caption head for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. 

 

COLOR GUARD

Adam Sage - Adam is currently the color guard designer and caption supervisor for the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. He also serves on the advisory board for WGI, and he was a member of the steering committee for 2010. When he is not teaching color guard, Adam is a third grade teacher in Kennesaw, Georgia where he resides.

 

PERCUSSION

Chris Hestin - Chris is the percussion caption head with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. He is also an active WGI Percussion adjudicator and serves as the Percussion Judge Training Director for both the Mid-East Judges Association and the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit.
