Originally begun as a Drum and Bugle Corps show, the Murphysboro Drums at Appletime competition is a premier competition hosting bands from Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, and Iowa, and consistently draws 3,000 - 4,000 spectators. In an effort to be responsive to the needs of bands early in the season, Drums at Appletime features a critique and review session with the judges for band directors and their staff immediately following the competition. A Grand Champion is crowned by combining parade and field show scores. An Overall Drums at Appletime Champion will be crowned as well regardless of class. It will be totally based on field show points. 

New This Year:

• We will have a marching clinic for each band after their performance 
• Our Judging Panel will use digital recorders and we will provide judges' comment summaries on our website. More information is available here.
